American Airways will develop its worldwide choices from New York this summer season.
The Oneworld alliance provider will add day by day service from New York’s John F. Kennedy Worldwide Airport (JFK) to Quebec Metropolis Jean Lesage Worldwide Airport (YQB) on Aug. 5, and thrice-weekly service to Calgary Worldwide Airport (YYC) on Aug. 6, schedule information from aviation analytics agency Cirium exhibits and an American spokesperson confirms. Each routes will function seasonally by October.
The brand new YQB flights will likely be flown with a 76-seat Embraer E175, and the YYC flights with a 172-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8.
The brand new routes are a part of a gradual growth into Canada by American. Since 2024, the airline has related YYC with each Charlotte Douglas Worldwide Airport (CLT) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and YQB with Dallas Fort Price Worldwide Airport (DFW).
And, in 2025, American unveiled a new partnership with Canada’s Porter Airways that features each a codeshare and loyalty tie-up for AAdvantage members.
Porter has additionally added flights to American’s hubs underneath the pact. By the top of February, it’ll provide new flights from Ottawa Worldwide Airport (YOW) to Miami Worldwide Airport (MIA) and Phoenix Sky Harbor Worldwide Airport (PHX), and from Vancouver Worldwide Airport (YVR) to PHX.

American will compete with WestJet on the JFK-YYC route; Air Canada serves the market from Newark Liberty Worldwide Airport (EWR), Cirium information exhibits. And United Airways flies the EWR-YQB route.
